Digital Signs That Tracks Your Movements

I recently read this article by Technology Review on how Samsung and Reactrix are moving beyond touch screens and trying to make hand waving the next big computer interface.

This is amazing 57" Samsung LCD TV will have a camera embedded within the unit that will reach audiences as far away from the screen as 15 feet. This standalone unit will allow Reactrix to deploy these interactive digital signs anywhere and everywhere.

The one of the general statements I don’t agree with,

"There could be a revolution brewing in billboard advertising. Instead of simply presenting a static image, why not let people interact with the advertisement?"

Some clarification needs to be addressed here, this maybe the case for traditional billboards. As for the steaming hot Digital Signage industry there are many companies that are providing dynamic content ads for digital billboards. (BroadSign, Scala, and Minicom to name a few)

Unlike other companies such as Softkinetic, Reactrix is planning on targeting the OOH Advertising market; which has been primarily dominated by traditional static Billboard advertisers.

Keep up the great work!
