Israel’s 3DV Plans To Launch Low-Cost Gesture-Recognition Camera in 2009.
3DV has refined a sophisticated camera, the ZCam, which can detect the gestures a person is making and translates those gestures into controls for a video game. Standing in front of a game machine with the camera, you make gestures with your body, and control everything in the game.

The idea based upon the motion sensor in the Nintendo Wii but takes it to a much more precise control through simple gestures. For example, you could turn up the volume in a game by making a thumbs-up sign, or you could hold out your hands in a racing game as if you were gripping a steering wheel. There was a demo of an early version where the player was able to fly a plane in a game by putting their hands in the air and using it as an imaginary joystick.
Really cool advances in the world of Interactive Digital Signage.
